Immediately brought tears to my eyes, the sense of connection with these little ones - that something I made will bring even the smallest measure of comfort, is an amazing thought.

Thank you for all your efforts to get there and get this good work done! All best wishes to you and those children and their caretakers!
Thanks again and again!Tracy Hudsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18155247731506601841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4190927190672935490.post-20165172443721216212010-01-21T02:00:01.806-08:002010-01-21T02:00:01.806-08:00May Allah reward you all.

Israeli dominance. Israeli-borne terror.

While hats may seem like small steps, they are tremendously important small steps. We must not forget these people. If, in our daily lives, we stop and think about these children, and remind OUR OWN children who whine from boredom or over-stimulation how much so many children in the world have been robbed of.

If I could reach out and give you gals a hug, I surely would. Again, keep it up. Keep the great ideas coming--and putting them into tangible realities.UmmFarouqhttp://www.southernmuslimah.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4190927190672935490.post-48492637999579170942010-01-20T16:19:37.008-08:002010-01-20T16:19:37.008-08:00I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word of this. O...I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word of this. Our Hat Lady writes very well!

The pictures were a real treat, I am so happy today. I loved spotting my Hurricane Hat in several pictures! I think its so adorable and healthy that they traded the hats amongst themselves, and the lil guy in the teal hat is a doll! The silent 4 year old has also affected me-- getting teary eyed again!! :'(
But above all this is the paragraph that will really stick with me for a long, long time:

"Because for just one day in their lives, they got to pick their own thing that had never belonged to anyone else, and you all allowed them to have that experience. Additionally, they know that somewhere outside of their little lives, there are people who thought about them and cared enough to give them that experience, and while that is a small thing in the grand scheme of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, it is actually a big thing to the kids who participated and got a hat of their own and a little bit of attention that was just for them."

Wow. I feel the need to knit comfort dolls in addition to the hats. Let's do it!Beebahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10404891383095240679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4190927190672935490.post-24687220139698680822010-01-20T10:38:19.465-08:002010-01-20T10:38:19.465-08:00"I never dreamed that it would be so importan..."I never dreamed that it would be so important to the children to pick their own brand new hats out for themselves."
Nor did I. I'm beyond thankful to the author of this post as well as to all the women who contributed to this cause.
I never dreamed that it would be so important to the children to pick their own brand new hats out for themselves.
