I just heard the news, more photos and information coming when our friend gets home again!!! These hats are just some that we sent.
I quote my dear friend from her email to me
the kids in the photos are orphans from the war, they went nuts over the hats and when the bag was oopened they attacked it............seriously they spent 45 minutes trading with each other and they all had to try each hat on, although some would not give up theirs too funny!!!Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding while we waited to hear news. Our good deed made a difference.

LOL
I can see one of "my" hats too:-D
But most important; it's so good to see the hats reaching the children:-D
What a wonderful picture! Seeing these children makes me want to do even more. Orpahns and only Allah knows what they have seen, what they have lost and what their future hold in Gaza. Will they live to be 'normal', productive adults--will they be alive next year??
THANKS FOR SEEING THE PROJECT ALL THE WAY TO COMPLETION! You guys rock!
A link you must add is Defence for Children International, Palestine Section.
I got a lump in my throat and tears of happiness welling up in my throat when I saw this, and read our Hat Lady's message.
I can hardly believe its happened! I am more determined than ever. We will not stop here, no matter what.
Sipusa, I see "my" Hurricane Hat, as well! I can't wait to see who else got the other two I sent! I can hardly believe that that beautiful little hat of handspun yarn, the pattern which I couldn't figure out at first then got help with from the designer, is now warming the head of that beautiful child.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to all those who helped in the making, transport and distribution of these hats. Our effort would be NO where without you all!
Thanks so much for the comments everybody!
Sipusa-love that your hat made it in the photo becuase you were one of the first to join and one of the first to complete that hat in particular. I remember these things:) Big hugs to you.
Beeba, I thought that hat looked familiar but I couldn't place it. I remember how soft it was.
To everybody else who commented, we did an amazing thing, something that didn't come easy to us, that brought worry with it, but we were successful and determined the entire way there.
Without everybody involved this couldn't have happened. Without our friend in Europe this WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED at all. So many people to hug and thank.
Lets get moving on our next campaign. The children loved this little gift we gave.
May Allah reward all your efforts!
This is amazing! They actually managed to get them in! Awesome work!
Hooray! Hats on heads (darling little heads) - that's what it's all about. I'm so, so glad they made it. :-)
I brought this picture to my knitting class, at my daughter's school.
We have new volunteers, now, for the next bunch of hats. Hats on heads, where they belong. Just like JMK said!
